The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Assistant Branch Manager role in the South Milwaukee, WI market. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of front-line employees engaged in sales and service to build and maintain effective account relationships. The candidate will also promote the expansion of deposit and lending services by selling and cross-selling all bank products and services while providing quality service and information to customers and prospective customers.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $45K plus bonus, excellent benefits package and a potential career path to Branch Manager.

Assistant Branch Manager responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring staff achieves sales and service objectives by coaching and presenting an outstanding individual performance in these areas.
  • Assisting the manager in creating a branch sales culture, including a comprehensive understanding of the branch sales plan and goals.
  • Serving as customers’ single point of contact on all bank products and services.
  • Identifying problems and initiating resolutions efficiently, notifying appropriate resources of issues, and outcomes, and ensuring inquiries and investigations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing and auditing operational procedures, which may include those for safe deposit, negotiable instruments, night deposit, etc.
  • Assisting the Branch Manager in ensuring bank security and compliance, compliance with state and federal laws within the scope of position, and prominent display of required posters.
  • Accomplishing bank customer service operations by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling and coaching staff.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Banks-Retail Department. Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Supporting less experienced bankers by verifying transactions, signing checks, explaining procedures, and providing overrides, as necessary.
  • Managing branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
