The Position

Our New Jersey-based bank client is seeking to fill a partially remote AVP – Risk Analyst role. The selected candidate will assist in reporting of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program, assisting first line business units in completing Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), assessing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and controls review and evaluation, and supporting Vendor Risk Management (VRM) activities within the Operational Risk Management function.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $95K and full benefits package. (This is a partially remote position – must reside in NJ, NY, PA, FL, or GA.)

AVP – Risk Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Supporting an effective enterprise-wide operational risk management program.
  • Assisting in identifying operational risk issues and monitor and report on the remediation of control deficiencies and other risk mitigation activities to ensure risks remain in line with the Bank’s risk appetite/tolerance.
  • Assisting in preparing agendas, scheduling meetings, and creating and compiling reports and other materials for the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Board Risk Committee, and Management.
  • Participating in quarterly meetings with members of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Committee to discuss and document changes in key risk indicators and emerging issues.
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure proper due diligence has been completed for new vendors, and periodic reviews are being performed for existing vendors, in accordance with the Bank’s policy.
  • Coordinating with Credit Underwriting and Information Security on scheduling and completion of annual financial and Service Organization Control (SOC or SSAE 18) reviews for critical and high-risk vendors in accordance with the Bank’s policy and procedures.
  • Reviewing vendor risk assessment forms to confirm the accuracy of vendor information, adequacy of due diligence, completeness of documentation, and appropriateness of the vendor’s risk rating.
  • Recording minutes of ERM Committee meetings and organizing and archiving ERM documentation.
  • Coordinating with various business units to collect data and update ERM reports.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Five or more years of experience in Operational Risk, Audit, Compliance, Vendor Risk, and/or Enterprise Risk Management functions, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to interact with various levels of management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
