The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Accounting Manager role located near the Longview TX market. The position is responsible for overseeing and directing accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset, and cost accounting.

Accounting Manager responsibilities include:

  • Preparing periodic reports, reviews and reconciles data, and participating in the development of specialized financial data.
  • Overseeing the preparation of regulatory and governmental reports.  Reviewing financial information needed to ensure an accurate statement of the Bank’s financial position to various regulatory agencies.
  • Ensuring accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Overseeing and preparing entries and adjustments to Bank records, files, and statements.
  • Assisting with financial and variance analyses and budget preparation.
  • Providing managers with information necessary for decision-making.
  • Directing, training, supervising, and appraising accounting personnel.
  • Providing leadership to personnel through effective objective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
  • Staying informed of developments in the accounting field and of changing governmental and legal requirements.
  • Monitoring transactions when assisting members and non-members for BSA violations and/or suspicious activity.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Three or more years’ accounting and related supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Word & Excel with accurate data entry skills; intermediate knowledge of working with spreadsheets, including basic formulas, data filtering and sorting.
  • Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
  • A high level of initiative, independent judgment, thoroughness, accuracy and organizational skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills.
  • High level of confidentiality required.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.
