The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Accounting Specialist role located between Cleveland and Toledo, OH. The position is responsible for various account analysis and reconciliations: as well as the gathering, compilation, and preparation of Bank financial records.

Accounting Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Processing daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end entries as needed.
  • Performing various reconciliations of accounts, as assigned.
  • Processing of accounts payable as needed.
  • Communicating with a variety of bank front-line supervisors/managers with respect to gathering or clarifying financial information/documentation for their respective areas on a regular basis.
  • Supporting and assisting other department members as needed.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree in Accounting.
  • One or more years’ experience handling general ledger entries and performing reconciliations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Word & Excel with accurate data entry skills; intermediate knowledge of working with spreadsheets, including basic formulas, data filtering and sorting.
  • Previous use of Jack Henry SilverLake preferred.
  • Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
  • A high level of initiative, independent judgment, thoroughness, accuracy and organizational skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills.
  • High level of confidentiality required.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.
