The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Bank Financial Analyst role in the Trenton, NJ market.  The selected candidate will be responsible for performing wide-ranging standard and ad hoc financial analysis for the bank and developing and maintaining a suite of analytical reports. The candidate will incorporate data controls and efficiency within the various analytical methodologies developed and will document all processes and procedures developed.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $80K and excellent benefits package.

Bank Financial Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining ALM pricing models or quantitative methodologies to value loans, investments, and other financial transactions.
  • Building and utilizing Fiserv’s Vantage Risk & Budgeting Manager (or similar modeling tool) to develop and update forecasts and performing interest rate risk and scenario analyses.
  • Creating and running custom generated reports from the finance systems for presentations to the department, Executive Management, ALCO, Board, auditors and examiners as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining a set of standardized analytical and financial reports for use by the management team.
  • Utilizing SNL analytics to compare the bank’s performance to its peers.
  • Participating in strategic management meetings related to pricing and other business strategies.
  • Creating procedures or process documents for standardized analyses and financial reporting that is developed.

Assisting the Accounting Department with financial analysis, reporting, and data review, as necessary.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, etc.
  • Three or more years experience in ALM pricing modeling within a bank.
  • Possess knowledge of finance: yield curves, present value calculations, market indices, credit risk, asset classes, etc.
  • Strong in MS Excel: Conditional queries, lookups, graphs, pivot tables, and financial, date, and statistical functions.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Previous team work experience, fostering positive relationships.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Proven success leading teams to meet organizational objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence change.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills.
