The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an IT Support Specialist role in the greater Chicago, IL market. This selected candidate will be responsible for designing, administering, and supporting the bank’s server, storage, and other systems. They shall also be responsible for diagnosing, resolving, and documenting hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $70K and full benefits package.

Bank IT Support Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Supporting development and implementation of bank technology projects and new technology installations.
  • Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting server hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and other various hardware and software products.
  • Working with various units within IT and other bank departments on bank systems.
  • Providing Tier 2 support for the IT Department on technology-related tickets and reported issues.
  • Receiving and responding to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding system issues or problems.
  • Maintaining the backup and recovery systems.
  • Assisting in site openings, moves, and closings, as well as conversion-related activities.
  • Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for support situations including various system troubleshooting.
  • Responding to audit requests as needed.
  • Providing guidance to junior members of the team as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Diploma or Degree in the field of computer science or 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Formal Education and Certification a plus.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Requires knowledge of office practices, procedures, and general office machines.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems and basic system architecture.
  • Understanding the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
