The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a teller role in the Chicago, IL market. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of customer savings, checking, and credit account transactions, as well as customer services such as sales of money orders and traveler’s checks.

This position pays $11.00/Hr. and has an outstanding benefits package,

Bank Teller responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions.
  • Receiving checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and entering deposits into computer records.
  • Assisting in the bank-by-mail function, where available
  • Issuing traveler’s checks, money orders and U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Balancing cash drawer at the end of the shift and comparing totaled amount to computer generated proof sheet. Reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Ensuring that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Cashing checks from a variety of accounts upon proper verification.
  • Cross-selling financial institution services such as safe deposit boxes, traveler’s checks, etc.
  • Receiving mortgage, consumer loan and other payments, and ensuring the payments match balances due. Entering payment into computer
  • Reporting malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station to supervise.
  • Performing other duties when assigned.

  • One or more years’ of teller experience.
  • Successful completion of in-house training program, or other approved training program
  • Good interpersonal communication and computer skills, ability to operate standard office software and equipment.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Logical and methodological approach to problem solving.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Basic math skills.
