The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a C&I Commercial Loan Officer role within the St. Louis, MO market. The successful candidate will be responsible for making and servicing a variety of commercial loans to mid-sized to large businesses in the greater St. Louis, MO market.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $105K plus generous bonus and outstanding employee benefits. This bank has unusually low employee turnover in all job families.

C&I Commercial Loan Officer responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing complex credits and preparing clear, complete written and oral presentations without assistance.
  • Deal size from $1MM to $10MM C&I
  • Able to take on existing portfolio of $30MM and grow the portfolio of C&I credits.
  • Managing a commercial banking portfolio of business clients, assessing and meeting their business and personal needs.
  • Effectively monitoring, administering and maintaining of existing commercial banking portfolio in accordance with Bank’s standards.
  • Performing sales activities to develop new relationships with business clients.
  • Developing and maintaining referral networks with local insurance agents, real estate brokers, accountants, attorneys and other professionals.
  • Providing team members with functional guidance.
  • Maintaining credit quality in accordance with Bank guidelines.
  • Participating in all required training sessions for compliance.
  • Maintaining adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring proper loan documentation is prepared and monitoring and eliminating exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Involvement in various community activities and organizations.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Good credit skills – able to present credit facilities to loan committee..
  • Do NOT have to currently be in the St. Louis market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field, with at least two accounting courses preferred.
  • Five or more years’ experience in the financial industry preferred and a minimum of three years of commercial sales experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulations covering commercial banking activities.
  • Strong analytical ability with effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
