The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Credit Analyst role in the Hickory, NC area. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and analyzing all types of credit information pertaining to diverse types of loans.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $70K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Commercial Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing credit and financial reports to determine the bank’s risk for extending credit and making loans.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and semiannual reports covering the status of the loan portfolio for use by management.
  • Performing process presentation for commercial real estate loans, annual reviews, and relationship reviews for new and existing portfolios; based on historical data, projections, and appraisals.
  • Conducting financial analysis cash flow, debt service coverage, and loan to value details for the perspective business.
  • Assisting in the preparation of credit files for external loan review and, reviews selected borrowing relationships on an annual basis.
  • Utilizing corporate financial statements, personal financial statements, tax returns, operating statements, and rent roll in for loan underwriting, complying with credit policy standards.
  • Preparing risk rating forms in conjunction with presentations and annual reviews.
  • Ability to process presentations.
  • Articulating final potential loan details to lenders, internal loan committee, and management with the rationale to support lending decisions.
  • Revising financial statements for prospective clients in conjunction with bank underwriting and risk management processes.
  • Conducting industry and market analysis to identify issues and conducting 3rd party verification via background, credit, and bank due diligence guidelines.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative relationships with teams and lending officers.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • Two years of experience in a lending environment of a financial institution.
  • Superior knowledge of commercial loan documentation requirements, regulations, and Bank policy.
  • Knowledge of bank credit policy and procedures.
  • Understanding of credit underwriting issues associated with a wide variety of businesses.
  • Previous loan documentation and underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge of other areas of bank operation
  • Strong communication skills, oral, and presentation skills.
  • High reasoning skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from senior management, attorneys, vendors, government agents, and the general public.
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
