The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Credit Analyst role in the San Antonio, TX market. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data such as income growth, market share, and business management quality, for potential clients to determine if loans will be lucrative.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $90K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Commercial Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing credit and financial reports to determine the bank’s risk for extending credit and making loans.
  • Performing process presentations for commercial real estate loans, annual reviews, and relationship reviews for new and existing portfolios.
  • Conducting financial analysis cash flow, debt service coverage, and loan to value details for the perspective business.
  • Utilizing corporate financial statements, personal financial statements, tax returns, operating statements, and rent roll in for loan underwriting, complying with credit policy standards.
  • Preparing risk rating forms in conjunction with presentations and annual reviews.
  • Ability to process presentations.
  • Articulating final potential loan details to lenders, internal loan committee, and management with the rationale to support lending decisions.
  • Revising financial statements for prospective clients in conjunction with bank underwriting and risk management processes.
  • Conducting industry and market analysis to identify issues and conducting 3rd party verification via background, credit, and bank due diligence guidelines.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative relationships with teams and lending officers.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Five or more years of experience in financial banking.
  • Three or more years of experience in commercial lending.
  • Three or more years of experience as a banking financial analyst in the field of commercial and industrial lending, commercial real estate, and relationship underwriting.
  • Knowledge is spreading, reviewing, and interpreting business and personal tax returns and financial statements.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party reports – commercial/residential appraisals, absorption analysis, environmental reports, and credit bureau reports.
  • Understanding lending compliance principles and guidelines to comply with internal credit policy and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, oral, and presentation skills.
  • High reasoning skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from senior management, attorneys, vendors, government agents, and the general public.
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
