The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Commercial Lending Officer a role in the Menomonee Falls, WI market. The selected candidate will be responsible for determining the creditworthiness of borrowers, making credit decisions, developing new business and servicing loans and accounts in order to meet or exceed the Bank’s credit quality, profitability, growth, and service objectives.

Commercial Lending Officer responsibilities include:

  • Establishing new commercial banking customers by calling on prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits and referrals to other business units of the bank.
  • Responsible for soliciting and servicing a variety of commercial and agricultural loans.
  • Participating in community and professional organizations to gain exposure for the bank and drive new business development.
  • Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships to ensure quality control and provide outstanding customer experience.
  • Identifying needs, recommending products (including cross sales) and negotiating loan terms with new and existing customers.
  • Analyzing financial statements, underwriting credit, preparing credit memos and assisting in the preparation of loan presentations.
  • Continually reviewing portfolio to uncover other business opportunities and to ensure no past dues or exceptions exist.
  • Ensuring that all loans are properly documented and that any documentation or loan policy exceptions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • BA/BS degree in business, finance or related field.
  • Five or more years’ experience in Commercial Lending in a bank environment.
  • Ag Lending experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and retain business clients.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending services and bank products.
  • Knowledge of loan, bank and regulatory policy.
