The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Assistant/Administrator role in the Elizabeth, NJ market. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation, completion, and accuracy of commercial loan documents.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $65K and an attractive benefits package.

Commercial Loan Assistant/Admin responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and follow up on loan documentation for, commercial, construction, and real estate loans.
  • Obtaining credit reports, ordering appraisals, and preparing loan approval documents.
  • Verifying and correct supporting documents as necessary.
  • Calling on customers with lender and some independently.
  • Closing loans and completing final file documentation; obtaining updated financial information as necessary.
  • Preparing decline letters.
  • Following up for security instruments, including trust deeds, UCC financing, and UCC3 requests.
  • Opening title requests and ordering flood hazard certifications.
  • Ensuring reportable loans are provided to the Loan Committee in a complete and timely manner.
  • Maintaining compliance with credit terms, loan/security agreements, and regulatory and internal guidelines (processes and procedures).
  • Completing routine to complex financial transactions.
  • Ensuring legal documents are filed properly.
  • Scheduling loan closing for loan officers or may perform the loan closing.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience in loan processing and/or underwriting.
  • Current knowledge of industry-specific guidelines and procedures including an in-depth understanding of loan processing.
  • Highly accurate data entry skills and a strong level of skill working with a variety of PC and internet applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and the ability to navigate key industry-specific Internet sites.
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management, thoroughness, and accuracy skills required.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with a focus on teamwork and cooperation.
  • A high level of confidentiality required.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruption.
