The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist role in the San Jose, CA market. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support and completing financial analysis for the Commercial Lending Department by collecting and assessing customer financial information.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $75K and excellent benefits package.

Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Booking new commercial loans and information into the core system.
  • Processing loan payments, payoffs, line advances and wire transfers as needed.
  • Processing paid loans and release collateral.
  • Following-up and maintaining UCC tickler system and verifying our lien priority.
  • Assisting in ordering of appraisals, title policies, credit reports, filing deeds of trust.
  • Filing and monitoring incoming loan documentation.
  • Maintaining both Credit and Collateral files.
  • Reviewing of loan files to ensure collateral perfection.
  • Monitoring delinquent tax and lapsed insurance notifications and performing follow-up.
  • Loading loan requests into the loan doc system to produce documents for signing.
  • Analyzing information from tax returns and financial statements.
  • Preparing and sending out requests to businesses for new financial and insurance information on a yearly basis.
  • Produce preliminary disclosures for real estate loans as required using the loan documentation system.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all state and federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Prior training and experience in accounting or finance, as a collateral administrator, credit analyst or underwriter desired but not necessary
  • Two or more years’ experience in a bank or financial services environment.
  • Experience in commercial loan processing required.
  • Experience in commercial lending analysis of business financial statements preferred.
  • Experience in commercial loan document preparation preferred.
  • Ability to pay attention to the details and make a conscious effort to understand causes instead of effects, in a second nature.
  • Thorough understanding of the funding process.
  • Ability to negotiate structure and monitor funding transactions and ability to communicate clearly, to think and act independently and to know when to ask for guidance from more experienced officers.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Safeguarding confidential and protected information covered by privacy law and company policy.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team.
