The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Processor role located in the greater Chicago, IL market. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with the timely processing of commercial, consumer, and residential mortgage loans. The Commercial Loan Processor’s primary responsibility will be to analyze and submit files to underwriting and closing based on agency, investor, and company guidelines with a focus on efficiency and quality.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $65K and full benefits package.

Commercial Loan Processor responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in all aspects of the Loan Servicing/Processing Department.
  • Processing of multifamily, commercial real estate, SBA, construction and business loans, and any other loan requests.
  • All received items – financials, tax returns, appraisals, credit reports, etc. are to be scanned and saved to the Borrower file.
  • Updating Commercial Loan Checklist for each new loan file as items are received.
  • Reviewing on a weekly basis all loans in processing and updating the pipeline report accordingly.
  • Ordering and reviewing personal credit reports.
  • Directly establish and audit any new loan files or upcoming loan maturity files to determine any deficiency items needed.
  • Coordinating receipt of deficiency items with account officers, title companies, and escrow companies to meet all requirements and guidelines.
  • Discussing any items of concern with the designated underwriter.
  • Assist Client Advisors with requests for appraisal bids and prepare Appraisal Engagement Letters as needed.
  • Assisting Client Advisors/underwriters with obtaining preliminary documentation such as prelim title reports, Environmental, Lexis-Nexis, UCC searches and assisting with any other documentation orders as needed.
  • Ordering Standard Flood Hazard Determinations and following Bank’s procedures if the property is located in a flood zone.
  • Reviewing entity documentation to determine those authorized to do business on behalf of the entity and all required entity paperwork is received.
  • Prior to funding a loan ensure all items stated by the Credit Memo conditions of funding are met.
  • Assisting with Callbacks / generating daily reports as needed as well in pulling files / preparing for bank audits.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Two years of recent experience in commercial/mortgage loan processing.
  • Experience with LaserPro preferred.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Knowledge of computer software and experience with loan accounting systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and determine priorities.
