The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Commercial Market President role in the BowlingGreen, KY market. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the market location, to include providing positive, proactive and consistent leadership, direction, public representation, and guidance of the company’s sales and service, lending programs, other products and services in order to assure short and long range profitability and planned growth and prosperity of the bank.

Commercial Market President responsibilities include:

  • Serving as bank representative in professional, business, and community organizations to promote bank services.
  • Analyzing and screening loan requests for commercial loan team.  Presenting to the Board of Directors for approval when the proposed loan is beyond lending authority.
  • Managing large or complex commercial loans as needed, and counselling loan customers on loan management and beneficial financial strategies.
  • Obtaining new business/commercial banking relationships in accordance with Bank targets.
  • Compiling and analyzing market research data to develop a list of prospects.
  • Overseeing all stages of business/commercial banking prospects, including coordination of duties for credit analysts, administrative assistants, cash management and others.
  • Attracting, selecting, developing, tracking performance, rewarding, motivating, mentoring and retaining a professional staff.
  • Overseeing market’s CRA efforts.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting or related area, or equivalent experience required.
  • Ten or more years of lending, banking or financial services experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership abilities shown in previous positions.
  • Strong business development and credit risk assessment skills.
  • Must have proven track record in business development.
  • Knowledge of bank regulations pertaining to lending and debt collection.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant PC software applications, such as Word and Excel.
  • Articulate and comfortable in communicating with all levels in a bank organization and with external customers.
  • A successful track record – having a proven performance record as evidenced through solid financial performance, risk management and success of staff.
