The Position

Our Minnesota-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Compliance/Risk Officer role. This selected candidate will be responsible for leading the Enterprise Risk Management Program processes and serve as a subject matter expert in financial risk management.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $115K and a full benefits package. (This is a remote position).

Compliance/Risk Officer responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing risk management staff in their delivery of ERM services for delivery of all core components of the program.
  • Leading the enterprise-wide issue management program and integrate finding management with our Fintech partners.
  • Directing the Risk Assessment and Issue Management Processes in alignment with the company’s risk tolerances.
  • Establishing and carrying out risk assessment process (or RCSA activities) across business units, products, and services.
  • Overseeing all ERM policies to ensure comprehensiveness and appropriate annual review and approvals.
  • Development and delivery of Risk Reporting, including reporting the Enterprise Risk Scorecard to the Board of Directors.
  • Identifying and establishing additional ERM processes and technologies as needed to address the needs of the organization.
  • Establishing key risk measures to monitor progress and performance and for identification of risks.
  • Developing and presenting a variety of materials for Regulators, Board Members, and Executive Staff.
  • Providing senior-level reporting monthly to keep CRO and senior leaders informed of new and escalating risks and other issues.
  • Preparing and maintaining evidence and supporting audit and exam activities and related issue remediation.
  • Continuously mature risk reporting routines and maintain the risk scorecard metrics and reporting routines.
  • Supporting all personnel in carrying out their risk management accountabilities through the development of training, procedures, meetings.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Law, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Seven or more years of experience working in the financial services or consulting industry-related Enterprise Risk Management or senior audit role with direct oversight of the second line of defense functions.
  • Four or more years of people and/or program management experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance program processes within Financial Services industries, including a thorough understanding of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes, issue management, controls development, and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with the use of Governance, Risk, and Compliance solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations relating to financial risk management.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to develop presentations and communicate to executive leaders and the Board of Directors.
  • Preferred experience with risk and compliance oversight of Fintech companies.
