The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Credit Analyst role in the Church Hill, MD area. The successful candidate will assist the CCO as needed with monitoring the portfolio and analyzing the same for risk and concentrations.

The position offers a generous salary of up to $75K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing loan data on new, renewal, and existing business loans including data provided by credit bureaus, other banks, and bank files.
  • Performing independent financial statement analysis in accordance with established procedures for existing and potential borrowers.
  • Supporting a minimum of one – maximum of five lenders.
  • Preparing spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and analyses for commercial lenders on business loans.
  • Requesting and analyzing applicant credit reports, collateral, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to evaluating loan requests.
  • Preparing credit memoranda for new loans, renewals, and modifications.
  • Monitoring loan covenants with Relationship Managers.
  • Requesting and analyzing existing customers’ financial status, credit, collateral, banking status, and other information to determine the feasibility of renewing/extending credit.
  • Analyzing all types of loan data to detect incomplete, insufficient, or questionable information and independently follow up with various parties to obtain additional information and resolve questions and issues.
  • Discussing concepts, issues, opportunities, problems, and strategies with the Relationship Manager to ensure adherence to credit policies, proper management of credit risk, and identify problem loans in a timely fashion.
  • Providing value-added feedback to the approving authorities through appropriate risk/mitigant analysis.
  • Periodic assistance of an administrative nature to the Chief Credit Officer and/or lenders.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • A two- or four-year college degree with an emphasis on business, economics, finance, or accounting or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Three or more years of professional work experience.
  • Two or more years of direct experience in a commercial banking credit environment preferred.
  • Familiar with general commercial lending policies.
  • Understanding of processes, policies, regulations, and rules is expected.
