The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Hybrid Remote Credit Analyst role in the state of Mississippi. The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the commercial lenders to provide an independent analysis of commercial borrowers in the identification and mitigation of potential credit risks.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $75K and an excellent benefits package. (This is a hybrid remote position – must live in the state of Mississippi.)

Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in lending money or extending credit and recommending approval or denial based on results.
  • Performing financial analysis, projecting cash flow, and collateral evaluations.
  • Ensuring all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report to the loan officers and credit administration as needed for a timely resolution.
  • Performing trend financial analysis of tax returns and financial statements and compare to industry averages.
  • Reviewing loan files as needed to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with lending guidelines.
  • Performing all work within Bank guidelines, following Bank policies and procedures and standards of performance.
  • Preparing technical reports for the Loan Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Mentoring and assisting the training of less experienced credit analysts and commercial lending trainees in statement spreading and other credit administrative duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of banking/financial experience required.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures and identify exceptions to the policy.
  • Ability to moderate large groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software.
