The Position

Our Minnesota-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Credit Analyst role. This selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with the overall loan portfolio management, through analyzing data and preparing reports for review by Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $75K and a full benefits package. (This is a remote position.)

Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing financial statements and preparing written credit presentations that fully evaluate and address the risk profile.
  • Preparing credit presentations/memos based on these analyses to allow lenders and committee members to make informed credit decisions.
  • Assisting in identifying and documenting credit file exceptions, loan policy exceptions, and loan covenant violations.
  • Ensuring compliances with established Bank policies and procedures, providing feedback on loan requests and proposed loan structure.
  • Communicating with the commercial lending team and directly with Borrowers, to provide a comprehensive review and analysis of the loan requests.
  • Providing support to commercial bankers and the Chief Credit Officer by performing other duties as needed.
  • Assisting in maintaining complete and well-organized electronic commercial loan files.
  • Developing, maintaining, and distributing credit administration reports as directed by the Credit Administration Officer.
  • Participating in customer meetings with commercial lenders to develop a better understanding of our commercial/ag customers and their operations.
  • Assisting in the bank’s customer service/retention/portfolio growth efforts while at the same time maintaining independence in the credit underwriting function to contribute to the bank’s culture and tradition of industry-leading risk management practices and high credit portfolio quality.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related fields.
  • Four or more years of previous Credit Analyst experience, with an emphasis in any area (CRE, SBA, C&I or Agriculture).
  • Exceptional analytical, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills, with strength in written communication required.
  • Understands working as an effective part of a credit and customer service delivery team.
  • Proven time management skills to perform primary duties effectively during peak credit activity periods while also demonstrating self-starter traits to keep administrative tasks current and accomplish special projects during periods of more normal credit activity.
  • Strong business professional skill set including proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • A good combination of both quantitative and communication skills to afford the ability to create accurate credit analysis and effective written communication of that analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
