The Position

Our Illinois-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Financial Analyst role. The successful candidate will assist with research and documentation of technical accounting issues and the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $77K and excellent benefits package. (Must reside in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Indiana.)

Financial Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Playing a key role in the preparation of the Company’s SEC filings and regulatory financial reports.
  • Critical analysis and review of complex accounting transactions that require a level of technical judgment such as ALLL adequacy.
  • Providing assistance to external auditors during quarterly review and annual audit processes.
  • Performing ad-hoc analyses and research of accounting literature, as requested by management, including participating as a key contributor on projects implementing new accounting pronouncements, such as CECL.
  • Complying with written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
  • Complying with internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Super-user of financial publishing software and regulatory reporting software.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more years of accounting experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and banking industry accounting practices.
  • Knowledge of best practices in internal controls.
  • Possess expertise in other beneficial areas including income tax reporting, asset liability management, interest rate swaps, investments, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Identify, research, recommend and implement new alternatives to increase productivity.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
