The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Human Resources Generalist role in the Queens, NY market. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with tasks related to recruiting, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training, and special projects. The ability to ensure accurate information is processed as well as the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality is a necessity for this role.

Human Resources Assistant responsibilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact for servicing questions from employees regarding common human resource policies and procedures, including benefits and 401K program information.
  • Utilizing the HRIS system (ADP) on a daily basis.
  • Developing and maintaining HR reports such as detailed employee information, turnover analysis, auditor requested information, etc.
  • Conducting weekly new employee onboarding sessions
  • Assisting with recruitment activities such as phone interviews, scheduling in-person interviews, drafting offer letter.
  • Assisting in the coordination of the worker’s compensation and unemployment functions.
  • Assisting in the coordination of the FMLA benefit.
  • Maintaining the HR page of the intranet.
  • Management of personnel records.
  • Assisting in all compliance-related activities.
  • Assisting in drafting policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with human resources related projects.
  • Participating in wage and benefit surveys.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s degree would be strongly preferred).
  • Previous experience with ADP preferred.
  • One or more years of human resource/payroll experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written, as well as, oral.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal regulatory rules, regulations, and policies.
  • An energetic and positive outlook when working with others, both internally and externally.
  • A forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.
  • An individual that always represents themselves in a professional manner.
