The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Indirect Auto Lender in the Williamsport, MD market. The position is responsible for working with local car dealerships to finance auto loans. The Lender will work closely with department staff and dealership staff to finance auto loans for buyers.

Indirect Auto Lender responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with lending to maintain the dealer agreements including the collection of financials, changes in signers at the dealership, and being the go between for any other items requested by lending.
  • Applying proper risk management, fair lending, and regulatory compliance to meet consistent Bank credit policy for all credit decisions.
  • Reviewing and evaluating credit applications for credit decisions.
  • Maintain a consistent understanding of what each individual dealership requires from a service stand point.
  • Initiating and receiving calls to and from dealership employees and bank members relating to credit applications, loan status and account information.
  • Utilizing computer software to quote payoffs to dealerships and new account and loan data.
  • Using word processing software to create, print and mail letters to customers.
  • Verifying that loan documents are valid and process contracts using applicable software.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Associate degree required. Bachelors’ degree preferred.
  • Two or more years’ experience underwriting and buying loans for vehicle purchases from new and used auto dealers or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to establish, retain and grow strong relationships.
  • Ability to drive awareness and increase market share, identify growth opportunities.
  • Must have good organizational skills, be detail-oriented and have ability to work independently.
  • Ability to exercise individual judgment regarding granting credit to dealer customers while following established policies and procedures.
