The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Loan Operations/Collections Manager role in the Boston, MA market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the servicing of the Residential, Commercial, and Consumer Loan Servicing portfolios. The candidate will assess department goals, objectives, and service level standards, review, interpret, and recommend changes to policies and procedures, and ensure the Loan Servicing area complies with required laws and regulations.

This position offers a generous target salary of up to $100K and a full benefits package.

Loan Operations/Collection Manager responsibilities include:

  • Leading and directing the daily workflow for the Residential, Commercial, and Consumer Loan Servicing area to ensure maximum efficiency and conformance to procedures.
  • Managing and responding to audit requests from internal and external auditors as well as state and federal examiners.
  • Managing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the collection process for mortgage and consumer loans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assessing delinquent loans for modifications and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Working closely with Collector to respond to customer credit and collection concerns.
  • Managing projects including the implementation of new systems, products, and services directly affecting responsible units.
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining professional relationships with clients and attorneys.
  • Assisting in the foreclosure process in conjunction with the Credit Department.
  • Implementing necessary policies/procedures to ensure the collections process is automated, accurate, and efficient.
  • Interviewing and hiring Loan Operations staff; determines work priorities; schedules work assignments; orients, trains, and evaluates work performance; and provides ongoing recognition, mentoring, coaching, and counseling.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and federal and state laws.
  • Preparing financial budgets, ensures compliance/achievement of the financial plan, and analyzes budget information for comparison of actual to plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of progressive Loan Servicing management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required to establish goals, direct and evaluate staff; interact with employees, industry peers, and outside vendors; make recommendations; prepare reports; and conduct presentations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Tactical as well as a strategic thinker, with excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent organization, project management, execution, and delivery skills. Must be able to multi-task with frequent interruptions; be comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment; and manage multiple projects to conclusion on time.
  • Comfortable with metrics-based performance, including the ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to remain flexible and withstand unpredictable changes to schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintaining an excellent understanding of all systems utilized in Loan Servicing such as Fiserv’s Cleartouch, Mortagagebot, Nautilus, Laser Pro, CCMC, e-Oscar, CoreLogic Tax service systems, and Insurance Tracking system, etc.
