The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Loan Servicing Manager role in the greater Milwaukee, WI market.  The successful candidate will be responsible, with the support of a team of supervisors and managers, for overseeing mortgage, consumer, and commercial loan processing and servicing.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $120K and excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)

Loan Servicing Manager responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing loan system reporting services to executive management, compliance, and internal audit as well as other loan services departments.
  • Managing loan documentation review, secure loan file maintenance, exception tracking, and collateral protection processes including implementation of efficient and effective software solutions.
  • Overseeing the following post-closing activities: operation and servicing of the Bank’s commercial, residential and consumer loan portfolios to include servicing and reporting of participation and Freddie Mac loans, escrow administration, new loan set-up, flood, hazard, and private mortgage insurance monitoring and tracking.
  • Responding to inquiries from customers, auditors and banking staff; answer questions and provide documentation as requested. Explaining procedures, resolve discrepancies and handle complex problems.
  • Seeking out efficiencies that will improve the accuracy and timely delivery of documentation and servicing activities.
  • Developing internal processes and procedures to confirm servicing requirements are being met. When deficiencies are found providing direction that will improve the performance of the department. Seeking solutions where appropriate working with the Bank’s IT department when necessary.
  • Working with senior loan managers to assure loan products developed can be adequately serviced and the collateral properly maintained. It also involves working with vendors which provide support services to Lenders as well as vendors of loan software applications.
  • Developing and motivating a high-performance team committed to delivering service excellence at all times.
  • Managing investor reporting for all investor loans. Coordinating and ensuring the accuracy of sold loan Investor Loan System set-up. Ensuring the accurate and timely remittance of monthly payments to investors and reconciliation of custodial accounts monthly.
  • Overseeing loan maintenance for both portfolio and loan serviced for investors, including payment posting, loan account balancing and reconciling, IRS reporting, credit bureau reporting, loan extension and renewal processing, real estate tax escrow and Private Mortgage Insurance processing, SBA loan and Student Loan reporting, and timely responses to customer requests for information and/or error correction.
  • Maintaining an awareness of trends and innovations pertaining to loan servicing technology, procedures, and compliance issues.
  • Managing the department and along with department supervisors and managers. Hiring, training, coaching, developing and evaluating staff and ensuring accurate and timely completion of work.
  • Maintaining internal communication with managers, leaders, and employees.
  • Preserving the confidentiality and security of all bank loan files.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years in loan servicing and/or loan operations experience.
  • Three or more years of supervision in mortgage servicing.
  • Experience working with system setup and integration with the core.
  • Experience with project management preferred.
  • Extensive experience with loan documentation.
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors.
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors,
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a dynamic
  • environment and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision or supervision intervention, with minimal errors on all assigned duties.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office software including excel and outlook
  • Must work independently and as a member of the team.
