The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Loan Closer role in the San Antonio, TX market. The position is responsible for reviewing loan files for compliance issues prior to closing and reviewing and clearing collateral exceptions.

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $55K and a full benefits package.

Mortgage Loan Closer responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing loan documents prior to closing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepared document order for attorney prepared documents or loan worksheet.
  • Ordering loan documents through attorneys or loan administration.
  • Review title commitment to identify and resolve any issues that need to be addressed prior to closing.
  • Verifying tax statements, insurance coverage, APR, and pricing information for accuracy.
  • Researching collateral-related issues.
  • Clearing all pre-closing conditions required by the underwriter.
  • Evaluating loans to be sold to Freddie Mac on Freddie Mac’s proprietary system.
  • Funding and booking loans.
  • Assisting closer with other duties as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of general office experience, mortgage, or insurance experience.
  • Experience in closing mortgage loans or with real estate transactions preferred.
  • Experience with FHA/VA insuring and shipping, preferred.
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
