The Position

Our 20 year seasoned top mortgage client is seeking to fill Mortgage Loan Originator roles in the Orland Park, IL market. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling and originating residential mortgage.

Mortgage Loan Originator responsibilities include:

  • Originating quality mortgage loans in accordance with the required goals as established by the company.
  • Marketing, promoting and recommending mortgage products with the use of sales techniques to meet established loan quality and production goals.
  • Developing lead sources through marketing, cold-calling, prospecting and networking activities.
  • Assisting borrowers in determining the proper loan program, completing the loan application and gathering the necessary paperwork, including pay stubs, tax returns and bank statements to begin the loan process.
  • Coordinating communications between customers, underwriters, processors, closing agents and others to ensure a smooth loan closing.
  • Submitting loans through Automated Underwriting Systems for loan review.
  • Communicating the entire loan cycle to the borrower ensuring customer satisfaction and predictable all the way through closing.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as all Federal and State compliance policies, including but not limited to RESPA, REG B, REG Z, ECOA, & HMDA.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of Conventional, FHA and VA lending policies and procedures.

  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage industry, products, lending practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Previous experience on a mortgage loan origination system.
  • Large local network of outside contacts to generate referral flows.
  • Self-directed, with ability to plan own activities to achieve sales goals.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, organizational and time-management skills.
  • PC skills, including knowledge of mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.
