The Position

Our Wisconsin-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Mortgage Loan Processor role. This selected candidate will be inputting new loans, making information file changes, adjusts loans as authorized.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $51K and a full benefits package. (This is a remote position – must reside in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, or Michigan.)

Mortgage Loan Processor responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with their questions on loan payoffs, payments, and processing concerns, by telephone and in-person.
  • Documenting and maintaining loans on the computer system, solving loan system problems for customers and tellers, assists with the loan collection process.
  • Assisting Loan Officers and bank examiners by providing information and reports from the loan system.
  • Determining information needed, compiles data, and prints reports.
  • Preparing reports and other correspondence related to loan system activities according to established schedule or as requested.
  • Keeping accurate records and preparing paperwork according to the procedure.
  • Working with loan system providers to obtain information and solve problems with system operations.
  • Preparing loan documentation on Laser Pro system for loans generated in both Main Office and branch locations.
  • Preparing a variety of monthly reports related to loan activity including monthly reports on loan volume trends, interest rate trends, and exception reports, risk referral, insurance acct., late charge, new customers, loans missing social security numbers, purchased participations, PMI, LTV, Fixed-rate General Ledgers.
  • Assisting with consumer and small business loans as requested.
  • May assist or serve as a backup for loan processing and loan documentation for Mortgage Lender.
  • Serving as a backup to the Loan Documentation Specialist and print fixed-rate documents, underwriting (automated), order flood certificates, appraisals, title work.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of secretarial experience, technical ability to operate loan computer software and word processing systems, and other general office equipment.
  • Previous loan processing experience at a financial institution preferred.
  • Some accounting knowledge is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for answering customer inquiries and relating to other employees.
  • Willingness to assume responsibility and solve problems, understanding of basic interest rate computations.
  • Basic understanding of federal and state laws regarding collection practices.
