The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Loan Processor in the Nashville, TN market. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and evaluating all information provided on residential loan applications per processes and procedures.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $55K plus closed file incentives and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position)

Mortgage Loan Processor responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and analyzing all documentation received to verify that it is consistent with the application and if not, clarify differences.
  • Preparing the loan package according to stacking order and upload the package for underwriting.
  • Obtaining documents from the borrower as indicated by the underwriter (asset documents, gift letters, letters of explanation, etc.)
  • Scheduling closing with appropriate parties and provide necessary information to the closer.
  • Ordering vendor documents necessary to process a mortgage loan: appraisal, title work, flood determination, MI.
  • Contacting the insurance agent to obtain necessary insurance documentation and request changes to the policy.
  • Contacting employers for verifications of employment as well as mortgage holders for payoffs.
  • Monitoring LTV and DTI calculations as additional information is received to ensure the loan is still within guidelines.
  • Interpreting and clearing findings from FNMA and Freddie Mac.
  • Working with teammates in analyzing and solving situations that may arise during the loan processing and closing.
  • All other assigned duties.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
  • One-year minimum mortgage processing experience with a working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, USDA, and VA loan products.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System Requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Encompass.
  • Working knowledge of first-mortgage real estate lending practices, including federal regulatory requirements, state regulations, and agency requirements.
  • Proficient analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to perform income analysis and analyze complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and S- corporations.
  • Ability to perform both in a team environment and independently as needed.
  • Ability to perform in a multi-task environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
