The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Loan Processor role in the greater Chicago, IL market. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing prescribed systems and processes to successfully close, disburse, record, and ship real estate mortgage loans.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $60K and full benefits package,

Mortgage Loan Processor responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing documents and data entered into Loan Operating System for data integrity and uniformity
  • Managing personal pipeline of assigned loans to ensure loan is progressing in necessary manner in order to close and disburse as scheduled.
  • Ordering closing packages from approved vendors for portfolio and correspondent first and second lien mortgage loans.
  • Assembling documents for delivery to Title Company or notary for closing.
  • Ensuring all prior to document and prior to funding underwriting conditions are met with accuracy prior to authorizing disbursement.
  • Preparing and reviewing HUD-1 for accuracy and in accordance with program guidelines
  • Reviewing a prescribed list of closing documents for completeness and authorizing disbursement.
  • Completing the closing and funding process on all Home Equity loans, which may include: internally transferring money to proper accounts, ensuring that any required loan payoffs are completed, preparing checks, and preparing internal wire requests when necessary.
  • Preparing wire requests for mortgage loan funding.
  • Delivering prescribed list of executed closing documents to servicing department within 24 hours of funding.
  • Receiving closing packages and trailing final documents (i.e., recorded deeds, Title Policies, etc.) and forwarding documents to Records and / or the investor if applicable by prescribed deadline.
  • Logging in original notes to applicable Collateral Management Spreadsheet.
  • Compiling closed loan forms specific to correspondent channel and facilitates the shipping of required documents to investor.
  • Processing and tracking the recording and releasing of liens and other trailing documents as required

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Three of more years funding, post-closing, processing, or related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of loan program products and services, policies, and closing documents; specifically, regulations covering FHA, VA, FNMA, & FHLMC & USDA.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time management, and detailed oriented skills.
  • Must have an active notary in the State of Texas.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers to include MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with branch management level personnel preferred.
