The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Loan Processor role located in the northern suburbs of the Cincinnati, OH market. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing residential mortgage loan applications in accordance with internal policies and procedures, secondary market guidelines, as well as relevant government regulations and procedures. This position assists in the underwriting function by obtaining and organizing all necessary documentation.

Mortgage Loan Processor responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with customers, brokers, mortgage banks and sources (internal-external) on a daily basis, representing The Bank in a positive open manner.
  • Obtaining original information and documentation from originators for underwriting review.
  • Preparing document packages with bank closing instructions for closing agents (title companies).
  • Performing advanced debt-to-income and loan-to-values ratios.
  • Assisting in dissemination of rate/pricing information to loan officers, customers and partners.
  • Answering general questions (from inside and outside of the bank) regarding loan application status and related inquiries.
  • Performing completion and execution of Private Mortgage Insurance, Flood Certificate, and Investor Sales documentation.
  • Reviewing loan documents for completeness, accuracy, compliance with regulations, and approval prior to disbursement; responsible for completeness and accuracy of signing and filing following disbursement.
  • Correcting, on a timely basis or within a time frame specifically designated, any loan review, appraisal, regulatory, loan document, or financial statement exceptions within individual loan portfolio.
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of sold loan commitments to investors; provides follow-up guidelines.
  • Assisting Residential Lending Manager with additional reporting, meetings and policy/procedural changes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or department head.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics is preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience in mortgage lending.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Government’s Regulations and Practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of secondary mortgage market and related requirements, also to include residential lending knowledge generally.
  • Knowledge of loan closing, title company and underwriting requirements.
  • Keen knowledge of Regulatory Compliance operations and Regulations.
  • Previous experience using Encompass software preferred.
