The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage/Commercial Loan Closer role located in the Rosemont, IL market.  The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing commitment letters for approved loans and approve accuracy and completeness of the required legal documents related to new loans, modifications and interest rate buy downs. Book new loans in system.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $50K and benefits package.

Mortgage/Commercial Loan Closer responsibilities include:

  • Preparing commitment letters outlining terms and conditions consistent with the final credit approval. Assembling and preparing all documents as part of commitment letter for transmittal for execution.
  • Reviewing legal documents prepared by attorney prior to closing. Ordering title policies and other documents necessary for closing. Coordinating closing with lender, title company, and attorney. Ensuring all covenants of the approved loan are met prior to closing.
  • Sending documents to lender for signatures. Following up with borrowers, attorneys, title companies regarding collection of executed documents.
  • Reviewing all closing documents to ensure they are properly executed, recorded and received. Sending executed documents to title company for recording.
  • Preparing modifications/buydown legal documents for recording and follow-up on returned legal documents before and after recording.
  • Ensuring all duties are performed in compliance with loan policy and procedures.
  • Scanning all necessary information and documents as outlined in the loan department procedures of scanned information.
  • Identifying opportunities for other products/services and refer to proper center of expertise.
  • Performing other duties as required.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of experience and education.
  • Five or more years loan closing experience.
  • Working knowledge with title commitments, legal documents and schematic drawings.
  • Detail oriented and organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
