The Position
Our California based client is seeking to fill a Remote Compliance Manager role. The position is responsible for maintaining the bank’s compliance program. The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the compliance management program. This position monitors compliance with state and federal Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and OFAC laws and regulations.
The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $90K, full benefits, and is bonus eligible.
Compliance Manager responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership, direction, and coaching to staff members to create, maintain, and nurture an environment where all can be optimally successful in their roles.
- Developing and recommending policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with existing regulations and best practices.
- Implementing compliance program initiatives in the assigned business line(s).
- Facilitating compliance-related communication and ensure such communication is comprehensive, accessible, current, and appropriate for all employees and all partners.
- Maintaining a compliance management system that ensures compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to its operations and product offerings.
- Analyzing new and pending laws and regulations that directly affect the Business Lines practices; developing or revising appropriate policies, procedures, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance.
- Conducting compliance reviews; issuing reports of findings and recommendations to department management, and summary reports to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
- Acting as compliance representative in projects involving new or changes to existing regulatory impacted materials.
- Investigating transactions that are suspicious in nature and submit Suspicious Activity Reports for BSA-AML-related activities.
- Monitoring and tracking BSA-AML high-risk customers and accounts.
- Serving as an in-house subject matter expert to provide compliance advice and guidance to all bank staff, while addressing any compliance questions.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Certification required CRCM preferred.
- Seven or more years’ experience in Compliance, Risk, or Audit related role or related duties.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the Board of Directors, senior management, and employees.
- Broad knowledge of consumer protection law and other areas of compliance.
- Strong knowledge in corporate governance, Strategic Risk Management, and IT support technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of banking products and services.
- Effective project management and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently.
