The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an SBA 7a/USDA Processor/Packager role in the Tampa, FL market. The candidate will be responsible for packaging, processing, and submitting SBA, USDA Loan applications. The candidate will assist loan officers and BDO’s in the completion of SBA and USDA applications, and prepare package for credit analysis/analyst.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $65K and an excellent benefits package.

SBA7a/USDA Processor/Packager responsibilities include:

  • Submitting SBA/USDA package to SBA Credit Analyst to review and prepare the credit memo/analysis, request and provide any missing documentation.
  • Managing/updating the Pipeline Report daily.
  • Collecting all SBA/USDA Loan Application documentation from borrower(s)/guarantor(s).
  • Working closely with LO and BDO to complete application forms and collect all supporting documentation from borrower(s)/guarantor(s).
  • Preparing the Packaging Checklist, send to loan officer (or borrower), and provide weekly updates.
  • Pulling/reviewing credit reports for matters requiring a letter of explanation and supporting documentation.
  • Packaging/submitting SBA loans to the SBA General Processing Dept, for non-delegated PLP loans.
  • Creating a folder in Pdrive/SBA folder for all loan applications, move any applications in the Pdrive/SBA Loan Applications folder to the Pdrive/SBA folder (maintain/clean out any delete duplicate folder).
  • Pulling and verifying the IRS 4506-T, Income Verification Express System – includes ordering the 4506T’s and verifying that all information on submitted tax returns is correct.
  • Providing instructions for packaging/application fee submissions from the borrower.
  • Advising SBA of any changes to Approval via a Change/Modification memorandum, responsible for receiving approval of all changes.
  • Keeping the SBA Closing Specialist/Portfolio Manager informed of all outstanding file items for ticklers and follow up.
  • Sending SBA Procedures to LO’s and CLO’s to keep them up to date on the SBA Dept process.
  • Customer contact involves personally meeting, and heavy phone and email contact with customers/borrowers during the application process.
  • Demonstrating a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, and the Right to Financial Privacy Act.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance preferred.
  • SBA 7a experience required.
  • MUST know SBA One/E-Tran.
  • One or more years of USDA, SBA 7a, SBA 504, SBA Express experience.
  • Ability to build positive relationships within the bank and capable of establishing professional expertise through integrity, dedication, and strategic counsel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
  • Knowledge of nCino, Onbase, and Bankway desired.
