The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a SBA Business Development Officer role in the Denton, TX market. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing lead sources in order to generate SBA 7(A) and 504, as well as USDA loan financing for small businesses.

The position includes a generous salary and excellent benefits package.

SBA Business Development Officer responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing, and originating new SBA loans.
  • Developing and managing both internal and external relationships with business banking clients in the assigned geographic areas to generate SBA product sales.
  • Developing SBA loan packages and gathering pertinent financial information, and appropriate documents for submission to bank. Meeting or exceeding individual sales goals as part of the overall divisional sales goals.
  • Reviewing loan applications to ensure eligibility, and analyzing borrower’s repayment ability.
  • Being actively involved in the community to enhance network opportunities and educate potential customers on the Bank’s SBA products and services.
  • Adhering to and complying with all State, Federal and Bank policies and regulations.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five or more years’ experience as a Business Development Officer preferred.
  • Formal credit training a plus.
  • Demonstrated sales and marketing capabilities.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of SBA SOP’s, credit policies, and guidelines.
  • Broad knowledge of SBA lending is applied to a wide variety of banking applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
