The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an SBA Loan Operations Manager in the Cedar Rapids, IA market. The candidate will manage all aspects of the Lender Service Provider’s role in packaging, closing, and servicing of SBA loans. The individual will also ensure processes and procedures are efficient and compliant with SBA regulations.

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $75K and a full benefits program. (This is not a remote position.)

SBA Loan Operations Manager responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for overall Lender Service Provider operations and oversight of the operations staff.
  • Managing the packaging, closing, and servicing functions for government-guaranteed loans.
  • Adhering to all SBA Regulations, receiving and researching new regulations, policies, and procedures and implementing them.
  • Maintaining process manuals that are effective, efficient, and appropriate for internal staff and external partners.
  • Interviewing and hiring loan operations staff; determines work priorities; schedules work assignments; orients, trains, and evaluates work performance; and providing ongoing recognition, mentoring, coaching, and counseling.
  • Client onboarding and training for partner banks.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • Three or more years of supervisory and leadership experience and relevant operations management experience preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of SBA lending and regulation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skill to manage a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
