The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Senior Deposit Operations Specialist in the Milwaukee, WI market. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Bank’s operational systems and implementing efficiencies including system implementation and current system maintenance.

Senior Deposit Operations Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Processing Accounts Payable including verifying appropriate approval and expense of invoices per our Accounting Policy.
  • IRS Reporting to Include 1099 M Processing Reporting, Bond Interest Reporting and maintenance.
  • Maintaining, and updating Accounts Payable Processing platform.
  • Completing daily operational activities, including: general ledger posting/balancing, interface, charge-backs, overdrafts, report distribution, filing, item processing, bulk file, ACH returns/notice of change/reclamations, large dollar notifications, large item endorsements, incoming/outgoing collections, wire transfer processing and other fed desk responsibilities and research as requested.
  • Providing telephone support to the Bank’s internal and external customers.
  • Preparing government reporting, including: FR2900, levies and garnishments, unclaimed property, backup withholding, and Wisconsin sales/use tax.
  • Monthly Reconcilements to include: Cashier’s Checks Money Orders, CD Interest, Mortgage Escrow, Christmas Club, Account Analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining knowledge of bank products and services and refers customers and prospects to appropriate areas of the Bank.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Demonstrating professional conduct at all times and interacts in a positive manner with managers, coworkers, customers, and the community.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and training programs to further advance skills.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Finance or Accounting Associates Degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in accounting or finance, preferably in a Banking environment with FIS System Products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of people, both written and verbal.
  • A high aptitude for accuracy and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet time deadlines.
  • Ability to make logical decision and carry out decisions made.
  • Ability to work effectively and non‐defensively with a variety of personalities in a team environment.
