The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Bank Accountant role located in the Boston, MA market. The successful candidate will ensure accounts are routinely reconciled and internal financial statement reporting to management and the Board and external regulatory reporting is prepared accurately on a timely basis.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $110K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)

Sr. Bank Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and adjusting the bank’s financial data.
  • Preparing management and regulatory reports, performing general accounting and accounts payable functions.
  • Preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and researching open items for a variety of accounts will assist the CFO in carrying out the activities of the department.
  • Prepare financial statements including Securities and Exchange Commission quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K documents.
  • Review and manage the preparation of the Call Report and FRY9SP filing.
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations prepared by staff accountants.
  • Approve accounts payable payments.
  • Respond to external auditors and financial regulator’s requests.
  • Composed a monthly report and narrative outlining the financial performance of the company for the board of directors.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Three or more years of experience.
  • Relevant certification (CMA or CPA) preferred, not required.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
