The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Payroll Practitioner role located in the Little Rock, AR area. The position is responsible for processing, analyzing, researching, validating, and correcting payroll issues on a daily basis.

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $55K and a full benefits package. (This is a possible remote position.)

Sr. Payroll Practitioner responsibilities include:

  • Managing payroll and time/attendance projects and teams involving optimization, strategy, organizational design, sourcing, and selection, and/or implementation support.
  • Operating and maintaining payroll and timekeeping systems while processing payroll semi-monthly and monthly.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls and efficient processes.
  • Reconciliation of payroll taxes, other payroll deductions, and payroll balance sheet accounts.
  • Processing new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, and timesheet data, etc.
  • Creating and distributing payroll reports.
  • Reviewing timesheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Building long-term business relationships with key executives through engagement delivery and networking in professional organizations.
  • Effectively assisting employees with payroll related concerns or guidance in a professional manner.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred– Accounting, Finance, or Business; equivalent work experience.
  • Three or more years of related experience in a multi-state payroll processing environment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple projects.
  • Highly organized with deadline sensitive assignments.
  • High attention to detail and deal within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel.
  • Very strong analytical, problem resolution, organizational, and time management skills.
