The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Staff Accountant role in the Waukesha market. The position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of financial data for daily functions, month end close and projects. Areas will include fixed assets, investments, other real estate owned (OREO), accounts payable and receivable and account reconciliations.

Staff Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Preparing journal entries and funding transfers.
  • Reconciling accounts to subsidiary ledgers.
  • Reviewing documentation for accounts payable.
  • Processing invoice checks and ACH payments.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable records.
  • Processing general ledger entries and funding transfers.
  • Maintaining written procedures for assigned responsibilities.
  • Researching outstanding items or missing documentation to ensure timely clearance of dated items.
  • Assisting management as assigned for other general accounting duties for areas which may include fixed assets, investments, other real estate owned and f reconciliations.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Associates’ Degree in Accounting, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in an accounting function.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and possess strong analytical skills. Must have demonstrated ability to function in a variety of programs and systems as part of job responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and “expert knowledge” are critical to many of the Accounting Department functions, Profitability, and Investment Accounting.
  • Be able to, assist and analyze financial results, manage and coordinate the preparation of reports, ensure procedures are followed, and be proactive to analyzing, adjusting and improving Bank Operational Processes.
