Carl has been a Bank Controller for four years with a total of 14 years of related banking experience.

He is seeking an opportunity with a Michigan bank.

Carl’s career skills as a Bank Controller include:

  • Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with supervisory role to the accounting staff, and provide support to other members of the Management team and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in the month end closing process, perform and review bank reconciliations of the general ledger (GL), preparation and review of financial statements.
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors and responsible for filing of the 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other forms/schedules with the SEC using EDGAR and XBRL.
  • Review regulatory and compliance reports (Call Reports, Y9-C, Y9-SP, Y9-LP), calculation of regulatory capital ratios according to Basel III, and assist in the annual examination with Federal (FDIC) and State (DIFS) regulators.
  • Chair of the Disclosure Committee, and member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO), OREO, ALLL (ASC 450/FAS 5), and Compliance Committee.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, internal control over accounting transactions (SOX 404) to mitigate risk, enhance timeliness and accuracy of GL reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Monthly, prepare a summary submitted to ALCO and the Board of Directors addressing Liquidity, Loans/Deposits ratio, cumulative maturity and repricing GAPs, and investments.
  • Presentation to Quarterly, and for presentation to ALCO, review balance sheet and income statement projections, Interest Rate Sensitivity Analysis (IRSA), Economic Value of Equity, and liquidity analyses of the Bank’s cash flow crisis scenarios discussed in the Contingency Funding Plan (CFP).
  • Annually, review and document the assumptions for non-maturity deposits used in PROFITStar®.
  • Annually, update the Cash Management, Investment, Asset/Liability Management (ALM) policies, Wire Transfer Policy and Procedures, and the Contingency Funding Plan.
  • Budget: Participate and review annual budget using Budget Manager®.
  • Payroll: Review payroll for reasonableness and accuracy; audit of broker’s commission and mortgage volume bonus.
  • Insurance: Responsible for the renewal of all insurance policies including D&O insurance, property insurance, Stamp Surety Bond, Worker’s Compensation, etc.
  • Facilities Management: Manage lease agreements, oversee and control costs of maintenance and repairs of banking offices, and approval of maintenance contract and invoices.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations and internal company policies, including but not limited to BSA/Anti Money Laundering, Fair Lending, Privacy and Anti-Discrimination.
  • Enjoys a Bachelor’s Degree and  Masters of Science in Accounting.

Carl is asking for a base salary minimum of $92k.
