The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a VP- Business Application Support role in the Nashville, TN market. The successful candidate will be direct responsibility for all in-house, custom software development and product application support activities. The candidate will be responsible for the effective delivery and management of critical business application software that enables the acquisition and servicing of all products and financial transaction processing.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $185K and a full benefits package.

VP, Business Application Support responsibilities include:

  • Substantially contribute to the IT executive management team, offering industry best practices, efficient operational planning and delivery, and innovative thought leadership.
  • Working with the Chief Information Officer to develop and deliver an effective Strategic IT Plan, with an emphasis on effective in-house and vendor-developed software applications to accomplish company objectives.
  • Managing and overseeing of software developers and analysts responsible for application development, testing, and implementation of a multi-channel strategy.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with senior business and technology leaders to define and own the strategic application roadmap that will enable the credit union to deliver its mission.
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining an excellent IT staff that enables exceptional member experience through technology delivery.
  • Developing and adhering to an effective business application budget sufficient to execute the IT Strategic Plan while and maintaining continuous business operations.
  • Developing an optimal organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, including mentoring and career development of software development personnel.
  • Developing and enforcing appropriate policies, procedures, and resource management practices.
  • Delivering exceptional, seamless, consistent member experiences across all self-service channels, performing integration and optimization of various vendor and custom developed applications.
  • Monitoring and achieving the availability and performance targets of technology systems.
  • Directing and delivering semi-annual testing of Disaster Recovery capabilities and Business Continuity preparedness.
  • Collaborating with Information Security to monitor usage, identify potential threats/risks, and to mitigate all security exposures through immediate actions, proactive changes, and technology updates.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years of related work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in a senior IT leadership role with at least three years as an IT executive leading software development teams.
  • Three or more years of experience working with executive leadership in technology strategy development and execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high level of problem-solving skills and sound judgment with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
