The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a VP – Loan Operations Manager role in the Houston, TX market. The selected candidate will manage and supervise the day-to-day functions of the loan operations department.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $100K and a full benefits package.

VP – Loan Operations Manager responsibilities include:

  • Making decisions regarding loan documentation, exceptions, booking, and waivers based on the risk to the bank.
  • Supervising and overseeing Loan Operations’ Specialists.
  • Overseeing day to day operations to ensure that proper security and safety procedures are adhered to and that equipment and materials are used properly and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Monitoring entries to General Ledger accounts relating to Loans/balance GL accounts.
  • Reviewing loan documentation as necessary to assure adherence to procedures
  • and guidelines.
  • Performing quality assurance on all new and renewed loans to verify the loans are prepared as presented and booked as prepared.
  • Reviewing daily file maintenance and monetary postings daily.
  • Developing procedures and manuals for Loan Operations’ Specialists and distribute accordingly.
  • Providing procedures for cross-training Loan Operations’ Specialists.
  • Assisting with completing the loan portion of the Call Report on a quarterly basis.
  • Providing training and mentorship to staff to assure consistent procedures and practices within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • College degree preferred. Completion of banking courses encouraged.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, policy, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, and loan payoffs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
