The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a VP of Loan Administration role in the greater New York, NY market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Residential Loan Servicing (RLS) department. The candidate will focus on maintaining the department’s controls and a high level of customer service.

This position offers a salary of up to $170K plus bonus and full benefits package. (This is a partially remote position).

VP of Loan Administration responsibilities include:

  • Leading Residential and Consumer loan portfolio overseeing all Servicing, Collections, and Loss Mitigation aspects of the business.
  • Representing the RLS department on the Bank’s Data Governance, Data Management, Compliance, Complaints, Enterprise Risk Management Committees, and serves as the Business Continuity Plan Coordinator.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Loan Servicing department on shared services performed by the RLS department.
  • Managing Escrow Processing team that manages tax tracking and payment vendor and two outsourced insurance tracking vendors for both the Residential and Commercial loan portfolios.
  • Overseeing General Ledger team that performs daily and monthly accounting reconciliations; compiling monthly loan funding and loan commitments reporting; review the quarterly processing of charge-off entries, review and approve all departmental expenses.
  • Conducting an ongoing review of operations for process improvement and automation.
  • Serving as the lead for the periodic review of Third-Party Risk Management’s assessment of the department’s outsourced vendors, which includes lockbox, online payment processing, tax reporting, and insurance tracking, vendors.
  • Serving as the point person for all department audits, including quarterly SOX and external financial reviews, periodic internal operational and compliance audits, and annual MERS and USAAP exams.
  • Key team member responsible for the onboarding of the loan portfolios for bank acquisitions.
  • Responsible for the annual review and approval of all departmental procedures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three or more years of experience in a Lending operations department.
  • Government loan servicing experience (FHA/VA) required.
  • Leadership experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, listening, and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities, meet deadlines, and resolve highly complex financial problems.
