The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Accounting Manager role based in the greater Milwaukee, WI market. The selected candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department and manages Accounts Payable and Account Receivable personnel.

This position offers a competitive salary of up to $70K and an attractive benefits package.

Accounting Manager responsibilities include:

  • Updating and distributing financial reports to management, maintaining supporting documentation of general ledger accounts, and may support the financial budget process.
  • Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Daily reviewing and approval of AP and AR invoices, and troubleshooting questions in processing.
  • Ensuring accuracy and timely completion of month end closing. Completing monthly work papers and reconciling subsidiary reports to GL.
  • Assisting with the coordination of financial review and tax supporting documents.
  • Maintaining and recommending improvements to policies, procedures, and practices relating to the management of all accounting related functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit policies, cost accounting, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Reviewing accounts receivable collection notes. Assisting with collection activities for various entities and notifying the CFO of extraordinary issues.
  • Acting as the primary representative for daily cash management activities.
  • Implementing automated processes and controls to improve the efficiencies and functionality of the finance department and its execution.
  • Handling company tax matters and working closely with outside tax preparers to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinating preparation and completion of Sales Tax Returns.
  • Perform special projects and analyses as requested.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Three or more years’ experience in accounting – (general ledger and financial reporting).
  • Knowledge of established Accounting principles and methods.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • MS Excel experience using vlookups, pivot tables, and chart functions.
  • Skill in balancing multiple projects or activities.
  • Skill in isolating problem areas and developing effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with a wide range of individuals.
