The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Lender/Special Assets Officer role in the Oklahoma City, OK market. The successful candidate will be originating loans, deposits, and other banking services in an effort to grow the overall assets and profitability of the Bank. The candidate will be providing support to SBA and Small Business Lending Teams in the origination and servicing of credit relationships.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $90K and an excellent benefits package.

Commercial Lender/Special Assets Officer responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing loan portfolio in a manner that will maximize profitability and minimize delinquency.
  • Working directly with troubled borrowers to retain the loan relationship, or prepare the exit of the credit through external refinance or repossession and liquidation of the collateral.
  • Analyzing credit to develop and negotiate restructuring of debt with clients to improve the probability of repayment and reduce potential loss to the Bank.
  • Assessing the appropriateness of credit structures for new loans and renewal requests and recommend risk ratings.
  • Delivering banking solutions to their clients in an efficient manner while building the overall client relationship.
  • Analyzing credit transactions, assigning credit limits, and making lending decisions or presenting to proper higher executive management for approval.
  • Cross-selling other bank products as appropriate through a consultative selling approach, with an emphasis on fee income growth opportunities.
  • Referring business contacts and continuously develop ongoing relationships with select commercial and consumer customers including on-site visits, written/phone/email, or other means.
  • Evaluating the degree of risk of loans and prepare recommendations for the Internal Loan Committee or Board Loan Committee regarding loan structure and support of proper documentation.
  • Coordinating collection efforts with counsel and manage their actions in bankruptcy, foreclosure, litigation, and other legal matters and collection activities.
  • Notifying management of delinquency/collection matters or situation which could adversely affect the Bank.
  • Preparing loan approval request memos in cooperation with Small Business and SBA Business Development officer and participate in presentations to the approving authorities as needed.
  • Performing other duties as required by Executive Management.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years of lending experience.
  • Three years of executive experience in Banking.
  • Meets or exceeds established production goals.
  • Ability to make critical decisions and prioritize key objectives.
  • Must possess good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills and mathematical reasoning ability.
