The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Assistant role in the Nashville, TN area. The position is responsible for providing administrative assistance to department loan officers, including taking customer applications, pulling credit reports, preparing loan worksheets and typing loan documents, and when necessary, closing loans,

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $75K and a benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Commercial Loan Assistant responsibilities include:

  • Structuring the loan files, typing loan packages, and closing loans when necessary.
  • Coordinating loan closings with attorneys.
  • Calling for payoffs on accounts and mailing checks to financial institutions
  • Preparing loans for processing, making tickets for each loan, requesting appraisals, removing paid-out loans from the file, updating UCCIs, and correcting non-post loan items.
  • Handling telephone and written inquiries.
  • Assembling and verifying the accuracy of loan documentation.
  • Making and maintaining release files, processing quitclaim deeds, memo customer files, and processing tickets on partial releases of collateral.
  • Answering overflow calls for loan officers and neighboring employees’ calls.
  • Typing general letters (commitment letters, thank you letters, letters of credit, construction commitment letters, and application letters).
  • Disbursement, request, and file inspections for construction loans.
  • Working exceptions and past dues.
  • Blocking posts for Credit Administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in credit, customer service, or bank-related positions.
  • Excellent knowledge of loans, including consumer loans.
  • Knowledge of loan support computer systems.
  • Good telephone and customer service skills.
