The Position

Our community bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Real Estate Lender role in the Chicago, IL market. This position will be responsible for soliciting multifamily and commercial real estate loans for the Bank (some C&I Lending) from present customers, other investors, real estate brokers, and other real estate loan referral sources. (No paid referrals)

The position includes a generous salary of up to $130K plus bonus and an attractive full benefits program. (This is not a remote position.)

Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer responsibilities include:

  • Originating analyzing, structuring, and closing profitable CRE loan transactions ($10MM+ in annual closed loan volume)
  • Visiting with clients and prospective clients regularly, interviewing and analyzing the financial structure of customers and prospects and recommending products or applicable services.
  • Providing guidance and direction to bank’s internal support personnel to ensure proper and accurate completion of loan transactions and day to day operational requirements
  • Reviewing and analyzing commercial loan reports, direct liability, non-performing, new loans, and payment.
  • Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.
  • Possible loan portfolio available.
  • Bank does engage in particpations.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more years of related financial or business analyst experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the SBA SOP and lending procedures.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills with an attention-to-detail focus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, meet strict timelines, and interact effectively at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Widows PC environment and Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel products.
