The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Credit Manager role in the Indianapolis, IN area. The successful candidate will manage Credit Analysts and other Credit staff, ensuring that standards for superior service, excellence in execution, and teamwork are being maintained.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $140K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Credit Manager responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and managing the Credit Department consistent with Bank policy and industry standards, thereby ensuring that credit quality is being maintained.
  • Assisting the Chief Credit Officer with the annual review of Lending Policies, providing recommendations as appropriate.
  • Assisting the Chief Credit Officer with reviewing commercial and consumer loan requests and providing quality control of same, primarily focusing on the review and quality control of normal renewals, smaller loan requests, and the work of newer Credit Analysts.
  • Recruiting, hiring, assigning jobs, promoting, conducting performance appraisals, counseling, disciplining, and terminating employees, mentoring and coaching employees in performance management, skill development, and personal growth.
  • Completing assigned credit approvals on an as-needed basis.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • College degree in a business discipline.
  • Five or more years of commercial credit analysis and underwriting experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff, with prior direct management or supervisory experience preferred (but not required).
  • Proven technical ability, as indicated by demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and underwriting complex commercial credits.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and work styles, including the ability to work effectively with lending staff.
  • Proven work ethic and ability to be an outstanding team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), exhibiting a high degree of professionalism.
  • High-level computer proficiency, with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Adobe.
