The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Loan Servicing Associate role located in the Boston, MA area. The position is responsible for various functions related to the secondary market sale and loan servicing of residential mortgage, commercial, consumer, auto, personal loans, and home equity lines of credit.

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $60K and a full benefits package.  (This is not a remote position.)

Loan Servicing Associate responsibilities include:

  • Establishing new loan accounts prepares loan servicing files in required file documentation order, and performs “quality control”/post-closing document review.
  • Reviewing investor and/or competitive mortgage rates and calculating rates and presents rates for approval.
  • Reviewing, balancing, and reporting daily cash remittances, on loans serviced for investors.
  • Preparing paid loan documentation and discharges and forwarding them to borrowers and closing attorneys as needed.
  • Delivering loans to Fannie Mae using an online loan delivery system.
  • Monitoring loan funding, posting funds, and maintaining loans loan sold when servicing is retained by the bank.
  • Processing monthly payments, quotes payoff figures, loan payoff funds, and correct payments if needed.
  • Preparing closed loan, negative escrow, and deposits by town reports for Board of Directors on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Preparing end of month pipeline and outstanding commitments report for the finance department.
  • Responding to customer inquiries relating to existing loan accounts.
  • Keeping abreast of federal and state regulations pertaining to consumer rights, servicing requirements, debt collections, etc.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Two or more years in loan servicing.
  • Experience with commercial and consumer loan serving required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Calyx Point preferred.
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and take actions based on established policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Skilled at identifying efficiencies and organize/document procedures.
