The Position

Our community bank client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processing Manager role in the Novi, MI market. The successful candidate will oversee the Processing and Pre-Processing (Initial Disclosure/Re-Disclosure) Departments, increasing volume and profitability; decrease processing time, improving efficiencies and communication by the use of Encompass Pipeline views/Motivity dashboards, maintain compliance requirements, and preserve strong relationships with Financing Consultants.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $90K and an excellent benefits program.

Mortgage Processing Manager responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and supporting Processors, Sr. Processors, and Pre-Processors.
  • Keeping up to date on Investor guidelines and will inform staff of any changes, train new staff, and serve as special products processor.
  • Processing and maintaining individual pipeline as dictated by volume.
  • Assisting with QC issues as needed and implement changes to eliminate identified weaknesses.
  • Working closely with Sales and Operations Management to develop and maintain procedures, consistency and provide additional training to staff.
  • Working closely with Sales, Underwriting, Closing, and Operations Management to meet sales goals, efficiency metrics, and turn time goals.
  • Lead Processor / Pre-Processor meetings/training.
  • Working with outside and internal resources to maintain compliance and improve process workflow.
  • Monitoring pipeline and estimated closing production (specifically ensuring the accuracy of estimated closing dates of all active applications).
  • Performing all duties of Mortgage Processor (including special product files i.e. Employee Files, Portfolio, and Renovation financing) on an as-needed basis.
  • Developing and maintaining all department procedures.
  • Troubleshooting with Processors, FC’s, and Underwriting on complex cases.
  • Approving time off requests and biweekly payroll hours, monitor overtime of staff.
  • Interviewing, selecting, training new hires as necessary.
  • Responsible to increase automation and efficiencies in technology use to reduce manual processes.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university highly preferred.
  • Five or more years of Mortgage Processing experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working in the current LOS highly preferred.
  • Maintaining and fostering positive relationships with customers and business partners.
  • Strong computer skills required such as Excel, Word, Adobe.
  • Provide professional communication in both oral and written expression.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information, maintaining the confidentiality of customer’s personal information.
  • Highly detail-oriented and can problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
